ABOUT

John K. Leung, D.D.S.

Dr. Leung graduated magna cum laude, along with other honors, from New York University with a B.A. in Biology in 1982. With his love for the outdoors, sports, and the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, he decided to move west and attended UCSF Dental School. Skiing powder snow up in Lake Tahoe, windsurfing in the SF Bay, and playing outdoor tennis are a few of the much-appreciated contrasts to the traffic jams, cold winters, and cement jungle of New York City.

Upon finishing his Doctor of Dental Surgery program, he was elected to the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, of which he remains a current member.

He furthered his study in the General Practice Residency program at Mt. Zion Hospital, and became the Dental Director of North East Medical Services the following year. To improve upon his administrative skills, he later completed a Master of Business Administration program at SFSU. For over a decade, he worked as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the post-doctoral Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at UCSF, and maintained medical staff membership at both UCSF and Mt. Zion Hospitals. Presently, Dr. Leung is in private practice in Burlingame and San Francisco.

DILIGENCE

Why Preventative Care

Preventative care is at the centerpiece of our philosophy in our practice. We believe that routine visits to your dentist, in combination with in and out of office dental care and general awareness on life subjects like teeth-healthy diet, staying fit, making lifestyle changes when necessary, not only can give you a better smile but also can prevent diseases and injuries before they take hold. We are firm believers in the direct correlation between a healthy life and healthy oral health.

Technology

We are committed to using the most current effective technology available in the market place to help serve, communicate, and educate our patients better. This is how we are able to provide appropriate care and treatment plan options.

Continued Education

We value the significance of continued education and its direct benefit to our patients. By frequently attending seminars, conferences, workshops, classes… we continually enhance our knowledge and the ability to provide better care to our patients.

ENTRUSTED

Referrals are the best compliments we receive. It inspires us to try even harder. In appreciation, please share us with your friends, family & co-workers from whom you heard about us, or to whom you intend to refer us.

GOVERNANCE

Office Policy

We’re excited to see you again, and if this is your first visit, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance. In an effort to make your experience as pleasant as possible, please keep the following information in mind and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have. We are looking forward to working with you on your oral health.

Infection Control

Your health and safety are of utmost concern and we follow strict infection control procedures. All critical instruments are sterilized and disposable supplies are discarded after use. We also disinfect the operatory and equipment after each patient visit.

Insurance Coverage

Most insurance is intended to cover some but not all of the cost of your treatment, and most plans include a patient co-payment and deductible. You as the patient, are primarily responsible for the financial charges incurred. Please bring your insurance information with you and we, as a third party, will be glad to submit the claim on your behalf. We will allow thirty (30) days from the date of billing for insurance payments, after which, we will ask you to clear your account and contact your insurance company directly for any denial and nonpayment.

While we make every effort to minimize the cost of your care, you can help by paying at the time of your visit. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Cash, and Checks.

Cancellation of Appointment

As a courtesy to other patients who may want the same appointment time, we request 24-hour advance notice for cancellation. Otherwise, there will be a broken appointment fee.
